Our Goal
This Blog is dedicated to making a change in the mental health field. Inspired by Dr. Daniel Amen’s groundbreaking work from his book, ‘The End of Mental Illness’; one of the goals of this blog is to shed light on the importance of brain imaging, particularly brain Single-Proton-Emission-Computed-Tomography (SPECT), in aiding in the assessment and diagnosis of mental illness instead of relying on symptom clusters present on the DMS-V. Such a manual, taught and used by most psychiatrists and psychologists, is notoriously known to have 100% reliability and 0% validity. Moreover, Dr Amen makes an interesting point that psychiatrists are the only doctors who do not “look” at the organ that they are treating. This blog also seeks to provide improvement solutions to our current diagnostic and treatment approaches. By doing so, I hope to inspire change in the field to shift toward the implementation of new techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of psychopathologies. My blogs are meant to be interactive or at least thought-provoking, thus all feedback/questions/comments are much appreciated!
About Us
At My Site's Academic Blog, we are passionate about improving mental health care through research and advocacy. Our team is dedicated to gathering evidence on the use of Brain Scans (SPECT) in diagnosing patients and advocating for their use in the field. We believe that accurate diagnoses are crucial for effective treatment and want to spread awareness about the potential benefits of SPECT. Join us in our mission to make a positive change in the mental health field.
